This course is guided by JK DeLapp, an award-winning natural perfumer who has spent over 15 years working directly with botanical materials, at the bench, in practice, and in professional perfume and attar creation.

JK’s path into natural perfumery began with a deep love for fragrant woods, flowers, and resins, and grew into an internationally respected body of work through his Rising Phoenix Perfumery. 

Over the years, his practice has been shaped not only by formulation, but by long hours spent observing materials, refining compositions, learning how scent behaves over time, and traveling abroad in search of aromatic wisdom, traditional understanding, and to initiate collaborative distillation projects.
